Warm wishes and blessings from our family to yours this Christmas Season!

What a wonderful and eventful year 2025 has been – filled with family time and memorable trips.

January brought sunshine and great food when Ben and Mandy joined us for a week in Palm Springs. Ben made good use of the Airbnb’s kitchen and treated us to some amazing meals. We’re already looking forward to seeing them in San Diego next January.

In July, we met up with Sarah, Eric and Lucy for an adventure in Omaha. The highlights were the Children’s Science Center and the Henry Doorly Zoo – it’s such a joy to watch a two-year-old discover animals for the first time! We also got together with some friends from New Zealand and Jane’s nephew and his family.

In August, Chris and Ben took a “guy’s trip” to Japan primarily to see the World Expo. They explored Osaka, Tokyo and Kyoto enjoying lots of sushi, visiting a knife factory, and even going up Mt. Fuji. Everywhere they went people were welcoming, everything was spotless and on time, and the 200 mph bullet trains may have been the highlight.

After a couple years away from teaching, Sarah is back in the classroom at Holy Trinity Catholic school in Des Moines and is teaching 6th and 8th grade math.
